A RHYL takeaway has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The Town Fryer, located at 56 Wellington Road, was given the score after assessment on January 9.
The report into the chippy rated its hygienic food handling ‘good’, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building ‘generally satisfactory’, and its management of food safety ‘major improvement necessary’.

The business has booked a re-evaluation, but these are not usually completed until at least three months after the previous inspection.
The Town Fryer was approached for comment, and the Journal was informed the poor rating was due to “paperwork”, despite their worst mark being for the management of food safety.
It means that of Denbighshire's 99 takeaways with ratings, 47 have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
The takeaway’s TripAdvisor rating of 4.5, based off 136 reviews, makes the rating surprising, with the most recent review from four weeks ago saying their experience was ‘amazing’.
