A RENEWABLE energy company based in St Asaph was recognised for its achievements in 2022 at an annual awards ceremony.

JM Renewable (JMR) Solutions was crowned “best solar PV installer/contractor of the year” at the Regional Energy Efficiency Awards (EEA) at the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff on February 10.

This award recognises the efforts of fully qualified solar photovoltaic installers and contractors that provide excellent customer service, and demonstrate a high standard of quality workmanship or best practice.

JMR installed more than 520 solar panels in 2022, and this follows on from the company winning solar PV contractor of 2021.

Director Ben Musgrave said: “I feel honoured that JMR has been considered as Wales’ highest quality installer by the EEA.

“I’m so proud of the whole team at JMR for their continued hard work and passion for renewable energy.

“We wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for the high quality workmanship, skills and dedication of our staff.”

JMR was established in 2014 by two brothers and a friend - James Musgrave has been an electrician for more than 20 years, and Martin Jones has been a heating engineer for 24 years.

The company came together when Ben Musgrave gained a masters in renewable energy and resource management at Cardiff University, and they decided to create JMR together.

At present, JMR has 22 staff and have moved into a new 5,871 sq ft premises at Tir Llwyd Industrial Estate, near Rhyl, to meet growing demand for renewable energy.

Last year consisted of a range of major projects for JMR, including:

• 100 properties for local authority work comprising of solar panels and battery storage;.

• Upgrading schools to use clean, green energy.

• More than 800 panels installed for Grwp Llandrillo Menai colleges.

• Installing solar panels and battery storage for British Gas to support vulnerable people struggling with spiralling energy costs.

• Various industrial/commercial warehouse units energy installations were completed.
