MEMBERS of Rhuddlan’s Positive Action for Stroke Group and GEM’s Lunch Club marked Chinese New Year of the Rabbit with a delicious banquet of food.

This was provided by the Fei Voi Chinese restaurant in Rhuddlan.

Jessica Tran Tsang, from the Fen Voi Chinese restaurant in Rhuddlan, said: "Chinese society highly respect the elderly."

Jessica and her team were very keen to celebrate their new year with groups from the area.

She commented that everyone involved had a "fabulous" time eating and chatting together and a few new dancing moves were picked up.

A spokesperson from Rhuddlan town council said: "Mayor Mike Elgin was invited to attend one of the events and said the food was fabulous and the group really enjoyed the event.

"Mike was keen to thank Jessica, Alita and Nathan from the Fen Voi for their kind gesture. He also expressed his thanks to Shelia Tagholm who runs the stroke group supported by the volunteers from the community centre.

The stroke club was set up in 2008 for stroke survivors in Rhuddlan and surrounding areas. Since 2008, the club has evolved and now is more inclusive. Several of the current membership have not suffered a stroke but have other disabilities.
