ZIP World has confirmed the opening date for its Skyflyer attraction in Rhyl.
The airship, to be located along the town’s beachfront adjacent to the Pavilion Theatre, will take to the skies for the first time on Saturday, March 11.
It was initially due to open in July 2022, but was delayed due to wind and weather conditions not being ideal to perform its first full inflation.
The launch was then postposed until early August, but an “engineering and design challenge” found during testing led the company to confirm that it would not be possible to launch in 2022.
A spokesperson for Zip World said: “We’re so pleased to announce that Skyflyer will be taking to the skies of Rhyl as of March 11!
“This epic sightseeing adventure is a UK exclusive and will see you flying to new heights on the stunning North Wales coast.
“Reaching 400ft in the air, your Skyflyer experience will offer the chance to see a 360-degree view (extending as far as Liverpool on a clear day) aboard a unique balloon.
“This blimp-like aerostat is the latest ground-breaking innovation joining our long list of epic adventures, offering an entirely new experience, and can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.
“We’re even dog friendly! A huge thank you to Denbighshire Leisure for their support on the project, too.”

Zip World had previously said it was aiming for a February half-term launch, but thrill seekers will not have to wait much longer to take in panoramic views of the North Wales coast and beyond from 400ft high.
The attraction is accessible to all, including wheelchair users, and features other support equipment for those with disabilities.
“Big Red” – the largest mobile zip in the world – will be located adjacent to Skyflyer, allowing children to ride alongside one another on 270ft zip line.

"It is anticipated it will be operational all year round, from 10am to 8pm in summer, and 10am to 3pm in winter."
