A TOTAL of four people were taken to hospital following a crash between Bodelwyddan and Kinmel Bay this morning (February 10).
Police, fire and ambulance services were understood to be in attendance.
The casualties were transferred to Glan Clwyd Hospital by the Welsh Ambulance Service.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called this morning at approximately 6.47am to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in Bodelwyddan.
"We sent three rapid response vehicles and three emergency ambulances to the scene.
"We were supported by colleagues from the Wales Air Ambulance.
"We conveyed four patients to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital by road for further treatment."
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.45am this afternoon to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Bodelwyddan, near Maes Owen, which closed the road in both directions.
"Officers attended, along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to divert the traffic.
"The road currently remains closed whilst the scene is cleared."
A North Wales Fire and Service spokesperson said at 9am: "We were called to this at 6.45am – a road traffic collision involving two vehicles
"Fire appliances remain in attendance.
"Crews are working to release those in vehicles, and working with ambulance and police on the scene."
An eyewitness said the incident involved a "small white car with what looked like a van... the car looked a mess, so (it was) probably quite serious."
