CONSTRUCTION work is progressing well at a housing development for older people in Prestatyn and is on track to be completed in May.
The Denbighshire Housing development called Llys Llên is on Nant Hall Road, at the site of the former library building.
There will be a commercial space on the ground floor and 14, one-bedroom apartments on the first and second floor.
The social rented apartments will be provided to people over the age of 55.
Denbighshire County Council awarded the contract for the development to Bodelwyddan-based Wynne Construction.
The old library was demolished last year.
Mark Wilson, Wynne Construction project manager, said: "Work on the new apartments has been progressing well and we are on track for completion in Spring.
“The internal works are continuing, and we are due to begin the installation of ground source heat pumps, which will involve drilling in several locations around the site and is expected to take up to eight weeks.
“Local residents have also been notified of this work and we thank them for their patience while this disruptive process on site is completed. Following this, we will begin consolidating the drainage, services, and external works to allow for a new access route, carpark, and bin store to be built on site.
“Wynne Construction is committed to delivering high-quality social housing builds and it has been fantastic working with the team and Denbighshire Housing on this project.
"I cannot wait to unveil the finalised apartments later this year.”
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "Llys Llen is currently due to complete in May and residents will move in soon afterwards.
"The building work is progressing well, with all window installations complete, internal plastering underway and brickwork due to be completed in the next few weeks.
"The external cladding and scaffolding will also be coming down soon."
