A MAN from Meliden was handed a community order after pleading guilty to three counts of theft.
David Earnshaw, 50, of Ffordd Ty Newydd, was accused of the following:
- Stealing three large bottles of Vodka worth a cumulative £56.23 from Aldi, Prestatyn on May 3, 2022.
- Stealing four legs of lamb and nine hake fish worth a cumulative £74.02 from Aldi, Rhuddlan on May 17, 2022.
- Stealing four packs of sirloin steak and a three-minute steak worth a cumulative £37 from Farmfoods, Marina Quay, Rhyl on July 8, 2022.
He pleaded guilty to all three offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on January 16.
Earnshaw is to complete a maximum of 15 days’ rehabilitation activity, and a non-residential drug rehabilitation programme.
The court ordered him to pay £93.23 in compensation and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This totalled £178.23, to be paid as a full lump sum within 28 days.
An application was made for deductions from Earnshaw’s benefits.
