A GROUP of Prestatyn Rotarians and friends visited the Houses of Parliament last week as guests of Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies.

The group of 24 were given a guided tour of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, before lunch in the Jubilee Room, just above Westminster Hall.

Dr Davies then took them onto the Commons Terrace, before they made their way to the gallery of the House of Commons and House of Lords to watch oral questions.

Dr Davies, a member of the Rotarians, said: "It was a great pleasure to welcome the group to Parliament and to spend some time showing them around.

"I first offered to host them last summer, but they have been so busy with their work in the local community that this was the first opportunity they had to come.

"Being a member of the Rotary Club myself, I know first-hand how hard they all work for the good of others, so it was great that they were able to experience an enjoyable day for themselves."

Prestatyn Rotary Community Chair Peter Dop said: "We all had a fantastic day and thank James for inviting us.

"It really was great from start to finish and very well organised. James and his staff couldn't have done any more.

"We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the Jubilee room and some members even got to observe some of the oral questions.

"We set off early from Prestatyn and didn't arrive back until late, so it was a long day, but worth it.”
