A HOTEL in Prestatyn has closed due to the building’s “high running costs”.
Lyons Nant Hall, a Grade II listed landmark on Prestatyn Road, shut its doors for good on January 1.
The hotel was owned by Lyons Holiday Parks, having been bought by the family business in 2010.
The company, founded in Rhyl in the 1920s, runs almost 20 holiday sites across North Wales and Cumbria.
It will try to redeploy those who worked at Lyons Nant Hall elsewhere, while those with future events booked at the hotel will be reimbursed.

A Lyons spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we have decided to apply for change of use on the Nant Hall Hotel due to the high running costs associated with the building.
“We want to preserve the Grade II listed historical landmark, but unfortunately a hotel and restaurant is no longer viable.
“Due to the change of use, it is regretful that we cannot fulfil our obligations from this date. All planned events that have been part-paid or paid in full will be refunded.
“We will try to offer our alternative venues for as many of the cancelled events as possible.
“We will endeavour to relocate the employees to our other locations in the group.
“We would like to thank all the customers and staff who have supported the venue over the years.”
