HAS BANKSY paid a visit to Rhyl?

This is the question some residents are asking after a stunning mural paying homage to the RNLI appeared on the sea wall near the lifeboat station.

Rhyl RNLI took to social media to share a photo of the artwork, accompanied with the caption: "Has anyone else spotted this on the sea wall not far from the lifeboat station in Rhyl? What a special tribute to RNLI. Thank you whoever you are."

It raised excitement that legendary street artist, Banksy, had perhaps visited the town.

One person commented in reply asking, "Has Banksy paid a visit to Rhyl, perhaps?", to which another added: "It resembles his style. Only the real Banksy could confirm or deny."

Another person said: "I love wall art and this is indicative of a Banksy style. I hope it stays there."

Other people said was a "fabulous tribute to the RNLI", and described it as "beautiful".

A further comment said: "I certainly hope it's not removed. This is a wonderful tribute to the lifeboat crews at Rhyl who go out in all weathers at the risk of their own lives."

The RNLI is the UK's largest charity dedicated to saving lives at sea. Its crews have saved some 140,000 lives since its foundation, at a cost of more than 600 lives lost in service.
