UNCERTAINTY is surrounding a school in Rhyl after its headteacher and deputy head were confirmed as being absent today (December 1).
This concerns Christ The Word Catholic School, located on Cefndy Road.
The school’s website lists its head as Amanda Preston and deputy head as Joe White.

Denbighshire County Council would not give a reason for the absences, but told the Journal that both the head and deputy head were not in school.
A council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the head teacher and deputy head teacher are currently not in school.
“Additional support is in place to ensure the continuation of education and support for the whole school community.”
The school was put in special measures following an Estyn report published in July, after an inspection took place in May.
Attempts were made to contact Christ The Word for further comment.
