GARETH Bale says the Wales squad are feeling the “buzz from back home” and that 'buzz' is certainly strong at Ysgol Melyd!
Pupils at the Meliden based school enjoyed a 'World Cup Fun Day'. Youngsters took part in a coaching session, led by Ollie Williams of Full Circle and FAW Youth Council, as well as Zorb Football and Footgolf [put on by Denbighshire Leisure Ltd].
The Apple Cart provided free fruit for each pupil.
There was also an inflatable penalty shootout [from Prestatyn Leisure Hire] and table football from King of the Castle.
Face-painting was provided by Bernie Williams (Miles Of Smiles: Face-Painting).
Pupils also joined hundreds of other schools in Wales by taking part in the 'live' Jambori.
One Year Two pupil said: “It was the best day of my life."
Tom Herd, a teacher at Ysgol Melyd and organiser of the special day, said: "The pupils also took part in a range of World Cup activities in the classroom too. A great day was had."
No nation has waited longer for successive World Cup appearances, with Wales’ last game at the tournament being their 1958 quarter-final defeat to Brazil.
