ON SATURDAY (November 5), Denbigh and District Amateur Boxing club entered four boxers into the Maelor Boxing Club November show at George Edwards Hall in Cefn Mawr.
The show consisted of 15 bouts with boxers from Maelor going against clubs from across North Wales and Northern England.
Seth Evans, 13, boxed superbly in his second skills bout against an excellent and powerful opponent from Maelor.
Both boxers showed their full range of boxing skills, and the crowd loved it.
Tom Evans, 16, fought in his second bout against a tough opponent from Maelor.
Both boxers showed great boxing skill and fitness, and Tom boxed and displayed his talents in the ring managing to win with an impressive second-round stoppage.
Harry Windsor, 16, also fought in his second bout against a fierce opponent from Jimmy Egan’s boxing club in Manchester, the club that started Tyson Fury’s boxing career.
Harry showed his great boxing skill and even greater fitness during an exciting three rounds of boxing, going on to win by split decision.
Harri Watkin Jones, 19, went against a powerful opponent from Moss Side ABC. This was Harri’s second bout of his amateur boxing career.

This was an extremely close competition, with Harri flying out of the corner on the bell to shock his opponent with his fitness and movement.
This was a highly entertaining three rounds and tight competition between both boxers.
Sadly, the decision did not go Harri’s way with the judges at ringside awarding a split decision in favour of the opponent from Moss Side ABC.
The coaches from Denbigh and District ABC thank Butch and Maelor ABC for hosting the competition and providing an excellent show of boxing skill and fitness.
The club is now looking forward to future shows and, in January, will be entering two of its current boxers into the Novice Welsh Championships in Cardiff.
