THE “Christmas Pops” concert is to return to Denbighshire to kickstart this year’s festive celebrations, a day after the Rhyl Christmas lights switch-on.
The annual festive concert is free for all to attend, on Sunday, November 27 at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre.
Tickets are free to book by calling the Rhyl Pavilion box office, and will be limited to four tickets per household.
Direct from the USA, Barry White tribute, Williams Hicks, has been confirmed as the headlining act at this year’s Christmas Pops concert.
The Supreme Dreamgirls and Ysgol Emmanuel choir will feature alongside William Hicks who will be performing Barry White’s greatest hits, making a varied programme of music for the audience to enjoy.
The day before the Christmas Pops concert, actors Jake Canuso (Benidorm), and Richard Hawley (Coronation Street), both starring in “Aladdin” at Rhyl Pavilion this winter, switch on the Rhyl’s Christmas lights on the High Street between 1pm and 4pm.

Jamie Groves, managing director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the annual Christmas Pops concert to Rhyl Pavilion Theatre for the second year in a row.
“It’s great to be able to offer a fantastic free event for local residents in Denbighshire especially at Christmas time, when it can be a difficult time for many families.
“We therefore encourage those wanting to attend to call our box office to grab their tickets as soon as possible to secure their seats at the Pavilion Theatre this year.
“Make the last weekend in November the start of your Christmas celebrations with the whole family, with the Rhyl Christmas light switch-on on November 26, and our Christmas Pops concert on November 27.
“Both events are free to attend, so make the most of it!”
Rhyl mayor, Cllr Diane King, said: “The Christmas Pops promises to be another event of sparkle and joy - and what a line-up!
“Not only do we have a superb Barry White tribute in William Hicks, but we also have The Supreme Dreamgirls and Rhyl’s equally supremely talented Ysgol Emmanuel choir.
“Between them, the Christmas Pops promises to be a night to remember, and Rhyl Town Council is delighted to be once again supporting this free event.”
Doors will open from 4pm, giving concert-goers the chance to grab a drink at 1891 before the show starts at 5pm.
To book your Christmas Pops 2022 tickets, call the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre Box Office on 01745 330000.
