DENBIGHSHIRE County Council is working to make Halloween as safe and enjoyable as possible for residents.
The appeal comes from the council’s Trading Standards section as children and families start preparing their Halloween celebrations.
Cllr Win Mullen James, cabinet lead member for local development and planning, said: “October 31 is a date associated with parties and family fun, but for some, it can be a night to forget.
“On Halloween, elderly people can be left frightened and intimidated by youngsters calling at their home - particularly when the callers are in costume.
“We don't want to stop anyone enjoying themselves.
“But we are asking people to bear in mind the apprehension elderly and vulnerable people may have about callers knocking on their door late at night on Halloween.

“We would ask youngsters to make Halloween as pleasant as possible for the households they call on by being polite and courteous.
“Younger children are often accompanied by their parents on Halloween night, but older children are often allowed to go trick or treating on their own.”
