BOOTS has explained why its pharmacy in Prestatyn was closed last week after confusion had arisen among customers.
Members of the “Prestatyn Connect” Facebook page told of queues outside the building at its base at Parc Prestatyn retail park, people not being allowed inside the store, and a barrier being placed across the shop’s entrance.
The company has since confirmed that this was due to “essential maintenance work”, and that the store is now back to business as usual.

A spokesperson for Boots said: “Our store in Parc Prestatyn retail park was temporarily closed last week while we did some essential maintenance work on our ventilation system.
“Our team were on hand throughout to support our patients with their prescription requests from the door, and we can confirm that the store is now back open and trading as normal.”
