WE asked Journal readers what they thought was the one thing missing from Prestatyn town centre, and these were some of their thoughts.
Hotel and B&B accommodation was a popular choice, with Samantha Naylor saying “a budget hotel (Travelodge or Premier Inn) would do an amazing turn over if positioned near the Pontins exit”, with Peter Bloomfield adding “something like a Premier Inn/Travelodge or similar would be great to increase footfall from staying guests”.
There were many calls for a book shop in the town, with Jane Chapman noting that “Prestatyn had a bookstall on the market for many years, that was well supported - they are now in Rhyl and still well supported by their customers of Prestatyn”.
Nicola Simmonds also backed this idea, adding that she “[missed] the one at the top of town, I’d save my pocket money and be so excited to go”.
Banks were also a popular idea, with Jon Harland calling for a “community bank with full links to all other banks”, while Kath Jones said the town needed a Wetherspoons pub.

Joy Williams believes the town is missing a “free exhibition space”, adding that “we used to have one in the Old Library, but sadly now missing since that closed”, thoughts echoed by Geraint Rowe who said “A communal centre which should have been where the old library was”.
Leigh Williams said a cash machine was needed, while Carol Mcwilliams said “Another bridge over the railway so traffic is not forced into town”, with Carol Oneill adding that “better access to the railway” was needed.
Henry Williams called for a “pasta drive through”, and Josh Evans said a “cookie ‘n’ go” was needed in the centre.
Among the more humorous responses was a Corey McVann’s idea of a “huge statue of Carol Vorderman”, and Christopher Robinson suggesting a brothel.
Some of the high street shops to be mentioned were Primark, Wok and Go, Burger King, McDonalds, Zizzi, KFC, Starbucks and Waterstones.
