A LIVERPOOL-born tribute to The Beatles head to Rhyl Pavilion on Friday, September 23 as part of their UK Tour.

The Mersey Beatles’ two-hour show is packed with hit singles, live rarities and a special celebration of songs that feature in the Peter Jackson-produced “Get Back” docu-series which charted the recording of the Fab Four’s “Let It Be” album.

The Mersey Beatles were the resident Beatles tribute at the Cavern Club for a decade – playing more than 600 times at the Liverpool venue.

Since leaving The Cavern, the band – Mark Bloor (John), Steven Howard (Paul), Craig McGown (George) and Brian Ambrose (Ringo) – have toured the world many times.

They have won fans including John Lennon’s own family and The British Beatles Fan Club, who rate them as "The best Beatles tribute band around”.

The Mersey Beatles have just played a sell-out run of dates in the USA, and their new show charts The Beatles’ career from their early days in the Cavern Club to their final rooftop concert in 1969.

The show was originally scheduled to head to Rhyl Pavilion in 2020, but was delayed first by the COVID-19 pandemic and then by a flood at the venue in 2021.

Steven said: “This show has been a long-time coming, but we cannot wait to ‘get back’ to one of our favourite venues.

“We’ve had some special nights at Rhyl Pavilion down the years and Beatles fans in North Wales are always up for a great night.

“Each tour we do is different.

“We like to create a new show each year and this time we’ve put a setlist together which is not only packed with the hits everyone knows and loves, but also rarities audiences rarely get to see performed live.

“The show has gone down really well in America, Europe and all our UK dates so far and we cannot wait for a hometown audience to see it.”

Mark added: “Our 2022 show takes the audience on a trip from the cellars of The Cavern, where The Beatles delivered pure rock’n’roll, through their UK theatre touring years, conquering America, their ground-breaking studio work right up to the rooftop concert on top of the Apple building.

“Like all Beatles fans, we loved the Get Back series which charts the recording of the Let It Be album. We have included a number of stand-out tracks from the album which we know fans will love.”

Final tickets for The Mersey Beatles at Rhyl Pavilion are available now from rhylpavilion.co.uk.
