AS OWNERS of a bright new addition to Craig-y-Don, couple Sam Price and Andy Beare are, by Sam’s own admission, “partners in every sense!”
Taking on the premises occupied by Andy’s father, Bob, for about 15 years as oak furniture store “Furniture4All”, Sam and Andy spent four months renovating the Mostyn Avenue building, which is more than 100 years old.
The end result was “Darcey’s Interiors”, named after the couple’s daughter, and selling sofas, dining tables, occasional chairs, sideboards, garden furniture, and much more.
Also stocking homeware items like rugs, cushions, lamps, mirrors and candles, its showroom is constantly changing thanks to the weekly arrival of new stock.
Sam said: “It’s a completely new business, but obviously, a lot of customers know Andy’s dad, and quite like that familiarity. He built up a really good reputation in Craig-y-Don.
“That’s why we thought it’d be a good opportunity for us to carry it on, but we wanted to put our own stamp on it by changing the name and bringing in different products.”
Having officially opened in July, in what the couple label the proudest moment in business so far, their hard work has bore fruit in the early months.
Not only does the building have a shiny new feel to it, but the shop has garnered a “really positive response” from customers.

Sam added: “We’ve had a really positive response from people, about how the shop looks and the products we’re offering. We’ve had lots of people coming in and buying.
“We’ve worked so hard; we spent from March to July renovating. It was a lot of work; we were lucky that we had that time to do that, just to refresh the shop and make it a little more modern.
“It feels like our hard work has paid off when people come in and make positive comments, and all of the local businesses have been really supportive.”
And if you live further afield but like the sound of Darcey’s Interiors – fear not, for they have their own delivery service, too.
Sam added: “We complete all of our own deliveries, and local delivery is completely free. We have our own van, and usually, same day or week delivery is available.
“We can work around our customer’s requirements, and deliver during the evening or at weekends if required.
“We felt it was really important to offer that end to end personal service to our customers.”
