A FLORAL tribute has been laid by the chairman of Denbighshire County Council, Cllr Arwel Roberts, as a mark of respect to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The floral tribute has been laid at the council’s flag poles at a short ceremony at County Hall, Ruthin and taking place at Russell House, Rhyl later today (September 9).

The council has also confirmed locations across the county where floral tributes can be left by members of the public. They are:

• Corwen – area outside the Nat West Bank on the Square.

• Denbigh – near the War Memorial in Crown Square.

• Llangollen – Outside the Town Hall.

• Prestatyn – Ty Pendre Gardens.

• Rhuddlan – Outside the library and one stop shop.

• Rhyl – Pedestrian area behind the Town Hall.

• Ruthin – By Denbighshire County Council flagpoles, which can be accessed from the council car park (off Station Road).

• St Asaph – by the Translators monument in front of the Cathedral.

Flowers will be moved by the council by 5pm on the day following the funeral.

Cllr Roberts said: “As a mark of respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the council has announced locations for people to leave any floral tributes in her memory.

“Many people will be eager to pay their own respects and the council wanted to arrange official locations where the public could officially lay down any floral displays in a respectful manner.”
