A MAN from Rhyl is to pay in excess of £250 after he pleading guilty to committing common assault in the town.
David Toohey, 57, of Clwyd Street, was accused of assaulting Sophie Johnson on Palace Avenue on June 24.
He pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on September 1.
Toohey avoided having to pay Johnson compensation, as no lasting or serious injuries were sustained.
He was fined £120, and ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 and a £48 victim surcharge.
This total of £253 is to be paid in weekly, £6 instalments from September 21.
An application was made by the court for deductions from his benefits.
