PLANNING permission has been granted for a Thai massage shop to be set up on Prestatyn High Street.
“Maleerose Thai Massage”, to be owned by Mr James Aldus, will be situated at 34 High Street, formerly occupied by Alton Murphy opticians.
Denbighshire County Council granted permission for a chance of use of opticians to massage shop on July 26.
The site is described in the planning application as being a “single-story lock-up shop with partitions for office space and retail, located in a small mall area off the High Street in Prestatyn.
“Amenities include sink and toilet with rear access.”

The proposal added: “We would like to convert the shop to a massage shop specialising in Thai massage… we will require some remodelling of the interior space to provide suitable treatment rooms.
The business also intends to employ three members of staff; one on a full-time basis, and two part-time.
It states its opening hours will be 10am-7pm from Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
Prestatyn already has a Thai massage shop, “Hatha Thai Massage”, on Ffrith Corner.
“Maleerose Thai Massage” will be located next to North Clwyd Animal Rescue, and opposite Sugars & Creams sweet and ice cream shop.
