THE Apple Cart greengrocers in Prestatyn has undergone an interior revamp, with new-look décor and indoor seating just some of the additions.

Despite rumours of the greengrocers closing down and turning to a café, the owners have confirmed that they have instead been revitalising the popular shop.

With four tables and seating for up to 12 people, a customer toilet has also been constructed as part of the renovation.

“They asked, and so we delivered!,” said owners Ed and Pete.

“This week we have been working hard behind the scenes having a revamp, redecorating the front of our shop.

Rhyl Journal:

“In the coming weeks we will start to introduce our new snack and lunch menu, available six days a week for takeout or now to sit in too.”

Having opened in March 2021 with an emphasis on zero waste and less packaging, the shop offers a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetable produce, with the majority of it being loose.

This is with the idea that customers can buy just one of something if they so wish, reducing food waste by encouraging customers to buy just what they need and not risk not using everything.

They added: “Our loyal customer base love this idea and here our customers can bring their own containers and fill with every day essentials such as pasta, flour, sugar and cereals.

“We have also introduced a zero waste liquid refill, again where customers can buy and refill cleaning products.

“In the summer of 2021 we opened our salad bar and soon introduced take out jacket potato meals, soups, hot drinks and smoothies.

“This aspect of our business has been so popular and the demand for an indoor seating area has always been on our customers’ agendas.

“Thank you for you continued support and we look forward to welcoming you all to the new-look Apple Cart.”

The shop will reopen on September 8 as the owners take a short break.
