A GARAGE and tyre centre in Prestatyn is to wave goodbye to its customers next week after being open for more than 20 years.
Old Stables Garage and Dutton Tyres, on Gronant Road, will shut for good on August 31.
The site has been owned by John Leckie for 22 years, but John, 63, said the reason for his decision is due to him “getting old”.
Asked what he is going to do next, John, from Prestatyn himself, said: “I don’t know at the moment… semi-retirement.”

John’s former partner, Lynne, added on the “Prestatyn Connect” Facebook page: “There has been a garage service repair and tyre centre on this site for over 70 years.
“But the time is right for John to take his knowledge and experience of the motor trade to a new venture.
“John would like to sincerely thank all customers old and new for their loyalty, friendship and custom over those 22 years.
“A member of Rhyl and District Motor Club for over 50 years, he’s been committed to the safety of drivers and vehicles.
“John is certainly not ready to retire, so watch this space.”
