A WOMAN from Rhyl has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to theft and to possession of a sharp object in a supermarket in the town.
Nicola Walker, 46, of Victoria Road, was accused of the following while at Morrisons on Marsh Road on August 5:
• Stealing three bottles of Hendrick’s Gin, worth a total of £89.97.
• Carrying a kitchen knife.
She pleaded guilty to both offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

Walker was sentenced to 28 weeks’ imprisonment.
This was considered justifiable due to her having previous convictions and this being her “third strike offence”.
The court also ordered that the kitchen knife be forfeited and destroyed.
