A MAN from Rhyl is to pay in excess of £450 after he pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property and possession of a Class A and Class B drug at a hotel.
Richard Jones, 36, of Maes Y Felin, was accused of possessing a quantity of both cannabis (Class B) and magic mushrooms (Class A) at the Palace Hotel in Buxton on December 10, 2021.
He was also accused of damaging a door and lamp worth a combined £250 at the hotel on the same day.
Jones pleaded guilty to all three offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

He was fined £150, and is to pay compensation of £250.
The court ordered Jones to pay further costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, making a total payment of £485.
Both the cannabis and magic mushrooms were ordered by the court to be forfeited and destroyed.
