A MAN from Rhuddlan is to pay costs and carry out unpaid work after he was found guilty of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Andrew Weston, 36, of Maes Ffyddion, was accused of carrying an axe at the police station on Rhyl Road on July 20.
He was found guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

Mr Weston is to undertake 130 hours’ unpaid work by August 7, 2023.
The court also ordered him to complete a maximum of 20 days’ rehabilitation activity, while the axe is to be forfeited and destroyed.
In addition, he is to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 and a £114 victim surcharge.
He is to pay this total of £199 in full by September 5.
