CONFUSION arose among residents of Prestatyn and Rhyl earlier this week as numerous streets in both towns were covered with shards of glass.
Members of the “Prestatyn Connect” Facebook group said they saw glass covering such Prestatyn roads as Station Road, Gronant Road, Sandy Lane and Glan Y Gors, as well as by the Ffrith park.
On the “Rhyl Community Forum” Facebook group, contributors said Rhyl streets also littered with shards of glass included Clifton Park Road, Frances Avenue, Cefndy Road, Grange Road and Derwen Drive.
The residents said they noticed the glass late on Monday night (August 8) and in the early hours of the following morning.
An eyewitness told the Journal that it "seems to be where there are speed bumps".

Denbighshire County Council officials helped clean the streets, while police were also made aware of the matter.
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said yesterday: “We have been involved with clearing up the area, our road sweepers have been out today (August 9) also supporting this work.”
While police confirmed that a report had been received regarding glass on the road, they could not confirm where it had come from.
A North Wales Police spokesperson added: “Shortly after 11.30pm on Monday, August 8, we received a report of glass in the road from Ffordd Derwen to Cefndy Road, which was reported to have come from a car.”
