A MAN from Rhyl has received a suspended sentence and restraining order after pleading guilty to common assault and two counts of criminal damage.
Sean Russell, 37, of Beechwood Road, was accused of assaulting Zoe Stewart, and of damaging a T-shirt and vehicle belonging to her, on Butterton Road, Rhyl on August 2.
Mr Russell was arrested at a property on North Avenue on the same morning at about 10am.
He pleaded guilty to criminal damage to her vehicle at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 3, but not guilty to the other two offences.
He then changed both of his not guilty pleas to guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

At Llandudno Magistrates' Court on August 8, he also pleaded guilty to assaulting Ms Stewart by beating her, and to damaging her fence and garden furniture, on March 8.
He received a 24-week sentence, suspended for 12 months, and is to pay £650 in compensation.
In addition to his suspended sentence, Mr Russell cannot do any of the following until August 7, 2026:
• Contact Ms Stewart by any means whatsoever, directly or indirectly.
• Enter any property occupied by Ms Stewart.
• Attend Butterton Road, Rhyl.
