A MAN from Rhyl has been ordered to abstain from consuming alcohol after he was found guilty of criminal damage to property and two counts of assault.
Mark Morrison, 47, of Lon Hedyn, was accused of committing common assault against Scott Barton-Caldwell, and assault by beating against PC Ashley Davies, in Rhyl on May 13.
He was also accused of causing £200 worth of damage to Mr Barton-Caldwell’s vehicle windscreen in Rhyl on the same day.
Mr Morrison was found guilty of all three offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 3.

The court ordered him to avoid alcohol for 120 days, and to complete a maximum of 25 days’ rehabilitation activity.
He is also to pay £500 in compensation, as well as £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £95 victim surcharge.
This totalled £680, which he is to pay in monthly instalments of £50 from August 17.
Two further offences, of assault by beating of Mr Barton-Caldwell and of common assault of PC Davies, were withdrawn.
