We asked Journal readers what their favourite pub in Rhyl or Prestatyn was back in the day, and these are some of the answers.
Maureen Jones and Edwina Williams said Tito’s.
A number of people said the old The Bistro nightclub in Rhyl was their favourite club, once a hotspot with its purple and black interior décor, with velvet seats and cast iron tables.
Many others said Dixieland was their favourite club, which was eventually replaced by Brunel’s nightclub, which was among Owen Clark’s favourites.

Lezli Prime counted the Wine Barrel and Queens/Frankies/Scruples as some of her go-to pubs and clubs.
Liz Major said some her favourite Prestatyn destinations were Halleys and Buffers.
Glyn Roberts and Helen Davies had fond memories of the Downtown, while Ms Davies also included the Millbank Inn.
Andreas ap Harri, Jimmy Lyons and Freddie Lyons all liked The Mona.
Other favourites included the Costigan’s, The Mermaid, Crown Bard, the Honey Club, Mirrors, Splash Point, and Kontiki.
