THE launch of Zip World’s major new attraction, the “Skyflyer” in Rhyl, has been postponed.
The airship, to be located along the beachfront, was due to open on Wednesday, August 3, after its launch was put back from July 21 due to the wind and weather conditions not being ideal to perform the first full inflation.
But Zip World have had to delay its first take-off again after an “engineering and design challenge” was identified during testing.
No new date has been announced for the Skyflyer’s launch as yet.
A statement from Zip World read: “We are sorry to announce that the launch of our newest attraction, Skyflyer, has been postponed until further notice.
“During our rigorous testing process, we identified an engineering and design challenge which will need to be addressed before our customers can enjoy the attraction.
“We will announce a new date for launching Skyflyer once we are satisfied it meets our standards.
“At Zip World, we strive to bring our customers unique and world-first experiences, and we’re looking forward to adding Skyflyer to our growing list of attractions as soon as we can.
“We apologise again for the inconvenience this has caused.
“Customers with bookings for Skyflyer will be contacted directly by Zip World by August 1 to arrange refunds.”
