A BOWLING club in Rhyl has been awarded an substantial grant from the Gwynt y Mor Community Fund, that will go towards the installation of a new car park.
Grove Park Bowling and Social Club are aiming to install a permeable hard standing surface, eliminating the need for visiting teams to park on the adjoining roads in wet weather, as well as being available to the community for parking when holding large family gatherings.
The work is scheduled to commence in August 2022, with the club having previously received assistance for essential ground maintenance equipment in 2020.
A spokesperson for the Club said: “The membership of Clwb Bowlio Grove Park Bowling Club is very grateful to its treasurer who has worked very hard to secure this grant aid from Gwynt y Mor, which not only should ensure the club's future but also attract new members.”
Grove Park is currently working in partnership with Christ the Word Catholic School, running junior coaching sessions on its green every Monday with Year 11 children.
Those wishing to join the club can contact 07746161768.
