A MAN from Kinmel Bay has been handed a suspended sentence after he was found guilty of assaulting a woman in Gwynedd.
George Bates, 37, of Foryd Road, was accused of assaulting Katie Cawthroy by beating her on June 11 on Ralph Street, Porthmadog.
Mr Bates pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on June 13.

He received a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
Mr Bates is also to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £128 victim surcharge.
This total of £213 is to be paid in full by July 15.
