A MAN from Prestatyn has been banned from driving and ordered to pay in excess of £1,500 after he was found guilty of criminal damage to property he caused with a vehicle taken unlawfully.
Richard Turner, 39, of Grosvenor Road, was accused of taking a Suzuki Swift vehicle without the owner’s consent on December 13, 2021, before damaging a railway bridge pillar and fencing on Ceg y Ffordd while driving it.
Mr Turner was found guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on June 8.

He was disqualified from driving for 16 months, and received a £1,300 fine.
In addition, Mr Turner must pay a £130 victim surcharge, and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This amounted to a total of £1,515, which he will pay in monthly instalments of £200 from June 30.
