THE Superdrug store, as well as the Three mobile phone shop located inside it at a Rhyl shopping centre, is to close for business this weekend.

Both Superdrug and Three will close at the White Rose Centre, on Church Street, on Saturday, June 11.

A spokesperson for Superdrug said that this is due to “optimisation of our retail estate”, and that both Superdrug and Three employees based at the White Rose Centre would look to be redeployed.

The Superdrug spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Superdrug in White Rose Centre, Rhyl will close on June 11.

“This is due to optimisation of our retail estate and where possible, we are looking to redeploy Superdrug and Three employees in nearby stores.

“We’d like to thank our customers for their continued support and look forward to welcoming them into our nearby Menai Centre store, or they can also shop at Superdrug.com for home delivery.”

A spokesperson for the White Rose Centre expressed disappointment at Superdrug’s departure, adding that there are plans to bring a new café and other new names to the centre soon.

The White Rose Centre spokesperson said: “We are disappointed to see Superdrug leave the centre, especially when other retailers including Warren James, O2, EE, The Works, JD Sports, New Look and Specsavers have recently renewed their leases following on from Sports Direct arriving at the centre.

“There are currently plans to bring in a new café offer to the centre, which is an opportunity the landlord has been keen to resurrect post-pandemic, and there are other new names coming to the centre soon, including at the former B&M store.”
