AN OFF-ROAD motorcyclist killed in a collision near his home was not wearing a helmet at the time.
John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, opened the inquest in Ruthin on Monday (June 6).
Mr Gittins said that Michael Mannion, 29, apparently failed to negotiate a left-hand bend on the B5119 between Rhyl and Dyserth on May 25.
His off-road motorcycle collided with an oncoming car, whose driver received minor injuries.
Mr Mannion, of Rhydorddwy, Dyserth Road, Rhyl, was not wearing a helmet at the time and pathologist Dr Muhammad Aslam gave the provisional cause of death as head injuries.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
