HAVING the Urdd Eisteddfod back in Denbighshire has been described as a "marvellous honour".
The popular festival got underway on the outskirts of Denbigh on Monday and Denbighshire County Council chairman Cllr Arwel Roberts is thrilled to see the Eisteddfod in the county.
Speaking to the council's Twitter page, Cllr Roberts said: "It's a marvellous honour that it's come back here to Denbighshire.
"It's the 100th Eisteddfod for the Urdd and at last it's here after the Covid.
"It's been wonderful to see so many people here in our wonderful county called Denbighshire."

Denbighshire County Council's head of education Geraint Davies added: "Fantastic opportunity here at Kilford Farm with the national Urdd finally arriving in Denbighshire.
"The opportunities that the Urdd provides to young people and children over the years has been immense and it's great to see the Eisteddfod back here in Denbighshire offering the young people, of not only Denbighshire but the young people of across Wales, the opportunity to show off their skills, their talents, be that on stage or elsewhere on the field.
"So it is a great opportunity for the young people and I strongly advise everybody to come down to Denbigh. Come to the Eisteddfod, it's worth a day out."
