POLICE have warned residents to be mindful that an “old scam is doing the rounds” after an incident in Pensarn involving a driver suddenly hearing a bang on the passenger side of their vehicle.
A car then follows, claiming that the victim has struck their door mirror and demanding money for repairs when the mirror is, in fact, fake.
North Wales Police (NWP) say one such incident yesterday (May 30) involved a male driver with a female passenger in a silver Range Rover.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact police.

NWP Community Safety said: “An old scam is doing the rounds with an incident yesterday in Pensarn.
“The 'victim' will be driving along and then hear a bang on the passenger side of their vehicle.
“A car will then follow behind, get them to pull over and then claim that the victim just struck his driver's door mirror and demand cash for repairs.
“What actually happens is that the scammer is parked at the roadside and will deliberately strike the victim's car as it passes.
“The damaged mirror is fake and wasn't caused by the victim.
“Yesterday's incident involved a male driver with a female passenger in a silver-coloured Range Rover.
