A MAN from Rhyl was fined after he travelled by train without having paid his fare.
Chris Fredericks, 32, of Princes Street, was accused of travelling between Prestatyn and Rhyl on November 20, 2021 having not paid his £3.40 fare and with intent to avoid such payment.
A guilty verdict was proved in absence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 20.

Mr Fredericks was ordered to pay a fine of £220, as well as compensation of £3.40, the value of the fare he failed to pay.
He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and £180 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This amounted to a total of £437.40, to be paid by June 17.
