A MAN from Rhyl has been ordered to pay in excess of £1,000 after he was found guilty of obstructing a police officer and driving with a tyre with an exposed ply or cord.
Nicholas Barratt, 36, of Bridgegate Road, was accused of obstructing a constable in execution of his duty in Rhyl on March 9.
He was also accused of driving on Grange Road in a Volkswagen vehicle with a front wheel which was fitted with a pneumatic tyre with its ply or cord exposed on the same date.
Mr Barratt pleaded guilty to both offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 11.

For obstructing a policeman, he was fined £700, and ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £85 each.
This is to be paid in monthly instalments of £250, from May 25.
For the second offence, Mr Barratt received an additional £150 fine, and received three penalty points on his driving record.
