IN JUNE, Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her Platinum Jubilee - marking 70 years on the British throne.

As part of these celebrations, Denbighshire County Council’s education and children’s services worked with Councillor Alan James, former chairman of the council, to devise a series of exciting competitions for schools.

There was something for all ages - flag designing, letter writing, sculpture building, biscuit decorating, and even a royal bake-off.

After receiving an amazing 2,407 entries across the seven competitions and a lot of head-scratching and deliberation, the winners are announced as follows (images of the winning designs are available on Twitter @cyfoeth_enrich):
