A FESTIVAL is set to take place alongside the Urdd Eisteddfod celebrations in Denbigh this June.
Gŵyl Triban Festival, which gives artists from the region the chance to perform in the Welsh cultural celebration, includes many well-known local musicians.
The Urdd Eisteddfod is one of Europe’s largest youth touring festivals and attracts around 90,000 people.
Organised by Urdd Gobaith Cymru, most children and young people in Wales have performed at the Urdd or stayed at their residential camps.
With more than 40 artists set to perform, the Festival will be a great showcase of contemporary Welsh musical talent.
Among them is Tara Bandito, the Rhyl singer whose tribute songs to her home town have garnered praise and is one of Friday’s headliners.
Other headliners include country folk pop performer Welsh Whisperer, DJ Mirain, and Clwyd’s Morgan Elwy, a bass player and vocalist for rock band Trwbz and Manchester indie reggae group Lucy Lagoon.
The festival will take place at Kilford Farm near Denbigh (where the Eisteddfod is) from June 2-4, with three live performance stages offering a variety of the best Welsh music and culture, with from pop, rock and folk performers.
Like the Urdd Eisteddfod, entry is free, but tickets must be booked beforehand by clicking here.
