THE Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, spent time in North Wales yesterday (April 25) as a show of support for Conservative candidates standing to be councillors at the local elections on May 5.

Mr Johnson visited St Asaph, where he canvassed with St Asaph West candidate Peter Scott, before heading to Marine Holiday Park in Rhyl, where he met residents, made ice creams and was shown its new "Shipwreck Bay" indoor swimming pool.

He later headed to Llandudno, visiting the Penderyn whisky distillery and stopping for a hot drink at The Lemon Tree Tea Rooms on St George's Place.
