A post-mortem examination on Mr Elden, of Clwyd Court, Prestatyn, by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers, gave a provisional cause of death as multiple injuries.
Adjourning the inquest to a date to be fixed, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said the incident was still being investigated by the police forensic investigation officers, and it was possible that a criminal investigation could also follow.
