A FUNDRAISER day packed full of different events will take place in Bodelwyddan next month to support those suffering in Ukraine.

The “Support Day for Ukraine” will take place at the Bodelwyddan Village Hall community centre and on its surrounding fields, and will include refreshments such as Ukrainian stew and hot dogs, as well as the chance to learn traditional Ukrainian dances.

This will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 11am until 6pm.

Other attractions include a male voice choir, a magic act, the chance to take on firemen in a game of five-a-side football, performances from singers and rappers from the area, craft tables, raffles and much more.

Entry is free, with all money raised going to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Katie Jones, who has assisted main organiser Kathy Meadows with setting the event up, said: “Because of what’s going on in Ukraine, people just want to do anything they can; they feel helpless.

“It’s just grown and grown and is going to be quite a big day now.

“It’s just something that we all wanted to do to get the money out to them, because money’s what they need right now to get medical supplies, food, water; things like that.”

There are to be two separate raffles at the event, with prizes including a £150 ASDA hamper, and a £30 voucher to spend at ENVY Beauty Lounge in Ruthin.
