A MAN from Rhyl is to pay in excess of £250 after he was caught speeding on the A5 in Gwynedd last year.
Lewis Hewitt, aged 29, of Castlefields, Rhuddlan, was found to be exceeding the 30mph limit on the restricted road in Bethesda, near Cil Caseg, on July 4, 2021.
Mr Hewitt was recorded to be driving his Mercedes vehicle at a speed of 35mph shortly before 8.15am that morning.
The speed limit was signified by street lighting, placed at intervals of less than 200 yards.

He was found guilty of the offence at Mold Magistrates’ Court on March 24.
He was fined £158, as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and additional costs of £90.
This amounted to a total of £282, which he was given until April 21 to pay.
