NEARLY 500 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in North Wales in the latest figures revealed by Public Health Wales (PHW).
Figures reported by PHW on Wednesday March 23 show that a total of 1,877 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported throughout Wales.
Today marks the second anniversary of the first national lockdown brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a press conference held on March 22, Health Minister Eluned Morgan said that a new sub-variant of Omicron - BA.2 - is now the dominant coronavirus strain in Wales.

In North Wales alone, 474 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the latest PHW figures with Wrexham leading the way on 106.
Full figures for each county are:
Anglesey - 63
Conwy - 49
Denbighshire - 70
Flintshire - 104
Gwynedd - 82
Wrexham - 106
Sadly, a further 15 deaths have also been reported in the latest statistics. That takes the total number of suspected covid-19-related deaths since figures began in early 2020 to 7,090.
The PHW figures also show that 1,927,734 people in Wales have now received their Covid-19 booster jabs.
