ONE of the stars of a long-running and popular British crime drama series was spotted filming in Llangollen last week.
Actress Emilia Fox is perhaps best known for her role as Dr Nikki Alexander in BBC drama Silent Witness, which is now in its 24th series.
Her character - a forensic pathologist - joined the cast in series 8 and is still part of the show to this day.
On Wednesday February 23, Fox was spotted at Llangollen Bridge. This is believed to be as part of filming for an upcoming Channel 4 true crime documentary series which looks at real-life cold cases.

The actress, who joined criminologist Prof David Wilson in the town, told locals there that they were investigating the disappearance of Trevaline Evans, 52, who vanished from her antiques shop in 1990.
Prof Wilson is co-host of 'In the Footsteps of Killers' series.
Fox later surprised staff at the Dee Valley Produce store on Oak Street, where she stopped to have a chat and bought a bunch of daffodils.
Speaking to the Leader, Jordan Hanmer, a shop assistant, said: "Emilia was absolutely lovely and so down to Earth. She stopped to buy a bunch of daffodils and she was happy to talk about what she was doing here in Llangollen."

Jordan, 21, is too young to remember the Trevaline Evans case. However, when she went home later that day and mentioned the name to her father - a former police officer - she was in for a further surprise.
She added: "It turned out that my dad worked on that case and even interviewed one of the witnesses."

The first series of In the Footsteps of Killers was given a 10pm slot on Channel 4 and was considered a ratings success.
The broadcaster has now commissioned six more episodes with the same two co-hosts - Prof Wilson and Dr Graham Hill.
