RHYL'S SC2 waterpark is closed after suffering storm damage on Sunday.
The waterpark, dubbed the 'new Sun Centre', was set for a bumper half-term week - but has been forced to close its doors until further notice after strong winds damaged its roof as Storm Franklin became the latest weather front to hit the region on Sunday.
The soft play and Ninja TAG are not affected and will be open as normal.
Denbighshire Council's Leisure department said: "Due to the high winds along the coastline this afternoon, unfortunately our waterpark attraction SC2 Rhyl has sustained damage to the roof.
"We have no option but to close the waterpark until repairs have been undertaken. This is not the news we wanted on the back of the recent damage sustained to Nova and ahead of the half term.
"We would like to thank all of our customers for their understanding today, when closing the waterpark mid session.
"The safety of our workforce and our customers is paramount. Denbighshire Leisure Ltd will work with contractors to fix the damage when safe to do so.
"The waterpark will be closed while we assess the damage. We will keep you updated in due course."
